In vitro diagnostic tests which measure antibodies to pathogen specific antigens present in serum by haemagglutination. Diluted serum samples are mixed in a mictotitre well with fowl erythrocytes, which have been precoated with inactivated antigen. Interaction of the antibodies in the patient's serum with the antigen sensitised cells results in a characteristic agglutination pattern
