OC-SENSOR PLEDIA

OC-SENSOR PLEDIA

Fully automated, high-throughput quantitative analysis for FIT and faecal calprotectin testing.

Fully automated quantitative analysis

OC-SENSOR PLEDIA is a fully automated analyser designed for laboratories performing quantitative faecal immunochemical testing (FIT) and faecal calprotectin analysis.

Combining high-throughput processing, automated sample handling and integrated quality monitoring, the system supports efficient routine testing and flexible laboratory workflows.

One platform. Two complementary biomarkers.

Faecal haemoglobin and calprotectin provide complementary information to support gastrointestinal assessment, but traditionally these tests may require separate collection and analytical workflows.

The OC-SENSOR PLEDIA enables quantitative FIT and faecal calprotectin analysis on a single automated platform, using the same OC-SENSOR sample collection device.

This integrated approach helps simplify sample collection for patients, streamline requesting in primary care and reduce the need for laboratories to manage separate testing workflows.

By bringing both biomarkers together, OC-SENSOR PLEDIA supports more efficient gastrointestinal testing while providing clinicians with quantitative results to inform patient assessment and clinical decision-making.

High throughput without compromising flexibility

Designed for busy laboratories, the OC-SENSOR PLEDIA combines a throughput of up to 320 tests per hour with capacity for up to 200 samples. Continuous sample loading and automatic rack detection allow samples to be introduced during operation, supporting efficient and flexible workflows.

Random access processing and bidirectional host communication provide further flexibility in managing routine laboratory workloads.

Automation that works around your laboratory

From automatic start-up and shutdown to sample rack recognition and automated measurement modes, OC-SENSOR PLEDIA is designed to simplify routine laboratory operations.

Its integrated sampling system draws prepared samples from the OC-SENSOR collection device, while dedicated retest and dilution racks support repeat analysis and automated 15-fold or 250-fold dilutions.

These features help streamline routine sample processing and reduce additional manual handling.

Quantitative analysis using latex agglutination immunoturbidimetry

OC-SENSOR PLEDIA uses latex agglutination immunoturbidimetry to perform quantitative analysis of faecal haemoglobin and faecal calprotectin.

The method measures changes in turbidity resulting from antigen-antibody reactions, enabling analyte concentrations to be determined using assay-specific calibration curves.

Intuitive operation and integrated quality monitoring

OC-SENSOR PLEDIA features a 10.5-inch colour LCD touchscreen with an adjustable viewing angle, providing access to analyser functions and real-time information on reagent status and sample processing.

Integrated quality control functions, including QC charts and automatic CV calculations, support routine performance monitoring and help laboratories maintain oversight of day-to-day testing.

Reusable reaction cells for efficient testing

The OC-SENSOR PLEDIA uses reusable reaction cells with an automated washing system, reducing the need for single-use reaction cuvettes and helping minimise consumable waste.

Automated cleaning prepares the cells for subsequent measurements, supporting efficient laboratory workflows while reducing consumable handling.
