New MASTDISCS® for Gepotidacin susceptibility testing

MAST is pleased to announce the launch of GEP10C, the newest addition to the MASTDISCS® range, providing clinical microbiology laboratories with a reliable antimicrobial susceptibility testing solution for gepotidacin.
Gepotidacin is a first in class oral antibiotic for uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in females aged 12 years and older. It offers a novel treatment option for infections caused by susceptible pathogens, including strains resistant to other antibiotics, and has received regulatory approval from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) for use in the United Kingdom.
The GEP10C MASTDISCS® enable laboratories to accurately test for susceptibility to gepotidacin using the established, cost-effective disc diffusion method, integrating seamlessly into existing laboratory workflows.
For over 70 years, MAST has worked with pharmaceutical partners and clinical microbiology laboratories to develop reliable antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions that support the introduction of new antimicrobial agents into clinical practice. This latest addition to the MASTDISCS® range reflects that continued commitment, helping laboratories generate accurate susceptibility data to support evidence-based prescribing and antimicrobial stewardship.
GEP10C is available now as a standard stock cartridge and is compatible with MAST® DISCMASTER® Dispensers for up to 28 days in-use stability.
