We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and conscientious Electronics Development Engineer on a 12 months fixed term contract basis to join the team based at our site in Bootle. The job holder will be an integral part of the team, with the requirement to support the development of products to production. The successful candidate should be willing to actively engage and contribute their technical knowledge, to aid the design, implementation and maintenance of produced products.

THE ROLE
• Proficient in prototype and development designs
• Creation of PCB and wiring designs from product specifications
• Demonstrable experience of problem solving and debugging electronic boards
• To carry out peer review of board design, schematic and witing diagrams
• Experience of supporting the handover of products from development to production
• To develop test hardware to support the quality process
• Working with a PSL ensuring quality standards and cost with suppliers
• Effective communication with management on progress
• Experience of implementing process/workflow/product improvements
In addition to the specified duties the Electronic Developments Engineer is expected to perform additional tasks that the company may require.

THE PERSON
• BEng in electronic engineering or similar
• MEng/MSc or chartership is desirable
• At least 2 years relevant experience

• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing processes
• Ability to design against standards
• Ability to design for manufacture and assembly
• Experience with wiring diagrams
• Knowledge of Microsoft packages and MS project (or similar)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills and keeping to deadlines
• Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team
• Experience of cross functional collaboration and working
• Willingness to travel to sites in Daresbury and Deeside as required
