Mechanical Engineer

We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and conscientious Mechatronics Engineer to join the team based at our site in Bootle. The job holder will be an integral part of the team, ensuring development, evaluation and registration of products for diagnostic microbiology, in line with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate should assist in the delivery of mechanical designs for new products and the mechanical development and delivery of 
products. The mechanical design engineer will be required to work independently or as part of a team.

THE ROLE
In order to achieve this, the job holder will be required to: -
• Design and develop new products
• Output engineering drawings and assembly instructions
• Contribute to technical files
• Maintenance of workshop and equipment including associated processes 
• Iterative cradle to grave design
• Prototype assembly, testing and review
• Design specifications
• Liaise with other R&D/marketing/production departments
• Supporting paperwork
• Production handover
• BoM generation
• Project reporting
• Process generation
• Engineering Drawing Sign Off
In addition to the specified duties the Mechatronics Engineer is expected to perform additional tasks that the company may require

THE PERSON
• BEng in mechanical engineering or similar

•Meng or Chartership desirable
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Design for manufacture and assembly
• Design against Standards
• PCB design
• Soldering & Crimping
• 3D CAD modelling experience
• Solid works experience desirable
• KiCAD experience desirable
• Previous engineering experience in medical sector desirable
In addition to the specified duties the employee is expected to perform additional tasks when reasonably called upon to do so.
