We are looking to recruit a highly skilled and conscientious Demand Planning Manager to join long term at our Daresbury site, but with a requirement to attend Bootle site for an initial period of up to 3 months to understand the manufacturing function. The job holder will be an integral part of the team, overseeing the demand planning process, collaboration with other teams and contributing to the sales and operations planning process. The successful candidate should be willing to actively engage and contribute their technical knowledge, to ensure optimal supply chain operations.
THE ROLE
- Monitor and provide accurate data concerning production, materials, labour, wastage, idle time, rework etc.
- Optimise inventory levels, minimising backorders.
- Provide accurate product costings.
- Develop and maintain accurate forecasts from historical sales and other activities.
- Increase overall operational efficiency.
- Collaboration with other departments such as sales, marketing, purchasing etc.
- Resolve demand issues swiftly and thoroughly.
- Report management alongside KPI reporting.
In addition to the specified duties the Demand Planning Manager is expected to perform additional tasks that the company may require.
THE PERSON
- Experience of managing a small team.
- Previous experience in a planning and demand role.
- Ability to use a variety of computer packages including ERP systems, data analytical tools, Microsoft etc.
- Excellent communication skills and working with other departments
- Evidence of process improvement and change management
- Understanding of budget forecasting and cost management
In addition to the specified duties the employee is expected to perform additional tasks when reasonably called upon to do so.
